Optical Desktop 1000 KB shortcuts problem
Sorry, not sure where else to post this.
Bought OD1000 on the weekend. Installed drivers then connected USB receiver.
All worked perfectly. After rebooting I lost the function of the shortcut
keys along the top of the keyboard , My Docs , My Pics, My Music etc. They
worked the first time.
The only ones that DO still work are the + and - volume keys, even Mute no
longer works.
I've checked the shortcuts assignments in the keyboard settings and all are
correct.

Any ideas ?
Thankyou

Did you install only the drivers or did you also install the
Intellipoint / Intellitype softwares?

Re: Optical Desktop 1000 KB shortcuts problem
Thankyou for the reply.
I installed whatever the CD was meant to install. It asked me what keyboard
I had and then what mouse I had. If I press CAPS LOCK I get a little pop-up
on screen advising as such so I assume everything is installed.
XP PRO SP3 by the way.
It's funny that it the shortcuts worked fine until the 1st reboot after
KB/mouse install.

Re: Optical Desktop 1000 KB shortcuts problem
I've just reinstalled the Intellitype app. The shortcut keys started working
again but after a reboot, sure enough, they no longer work.
Something is not loading at the reboot to enable the shortcut keys.
There is an MS bulletin about the volume keys not working, they are the ONLY
short cut keys that ARE working in my situation. I followed the instructions
anyway to check the registry and it was as it should be.

I just replaced a 'faulty' Philips wireless desktop as the mouse pointer was
not always moving with the mouse. It seems that it must be my PC as this MS
kb/mouse is also only lasting till a reboot.
