Re: HHD lost space
in addition, when i use properties for the drive, i see 107GB is in use and
125 Gb is free. i have nothing in the disk yet and how can i get it back. is
that my system doesn't support the large disk. i had a 160Gb HHD and it
worked fine until it broke down. is there a way to prevent this happen.

Re: HHD lost space
well, it is full bar like other normal HHD with the max capacity number in
the center.
here is what i do repeatedly. use some fix disk software (in dos version) to
change it back to 232gb with ntfs format. use another fix disk system to
view, it shows 232gb. it is also see normal in XP version even in disk
management. however... (two thing i did and make the hhd reduce to 128gb):
1. when i use Error-checking in the xp with all the option chekced, it will
reduce back to 125Gb after it is done.
2. delete the partition, it will show 125Gb right away. (it doesn't show any
hidden partition.
however, if i am in XP mode, and show the max capacity is 232Gb, i can
format it without problem and it remains 232Gb.
i really need to know the solution and make sure it work. please any input
will help.

Re: HHD lost space
If you haven't done so, you need to update XP. SP1 is the minimum
requirement that supports 48-bit LBA (> 128GB)
