CPU Speed
I have a P4-630 3.0MHz processor with a 800FSB. The program CPU-Z states
this;
Core Speed - 3010.7MHz
Multiplier - x15.0
Bus Speed - 200.7
Rated Speed - 802.8
How can the Bus Speed and the Rated Speed be explain?
Thank you;
David

Rounded All: Multiplier (15) X Bus Speed (200) = Core Speed (3000). Bus
Speed X 4 = 200 X 4 = Rated Speed (800).

Re: CPU Speed
The P4 bus speed is "quad pumped", so the 200 MHz bus speed is quadrupaled
to 800 MHz internally.

____________ ____
Clock 200MHz ____| |___________|
Data 800Mbit/sec _____ _____ _____ _____
(64 bit FSB data x_____x_____x_____x_____x
bus on processor)
Four data bits are passed per clock cycle, during transactions on
the 64 bit FSB bus that connects the Processor to the Northbridge chip.
The 64 bit bus is 8 bytes wide, and at FSB800, passes 6.4GB/sec
during a burst of data.

Re: CPU Speed
I need to be clearer....*PaulMaudib* is a troll. There's another Paul who is
clearly quite helpful. Don't confuse the two. :-)
