dvd/cd burner won't burn

My Emprex 16x burner all of a sudden stopped recognizing blank cd's or dvd's
when i tried to burn something. Thinking the burner was badI installed a HP
20x Lightscribe. Now I don't even get an option to burn a cd or dvd. If I try
with the copy option, I get E:\ is not accessible. Incorrect option. Can
anybody help me figure out what is wrong?

Norton Autoprotect perhaps or an Old version of Roxio, or Zone Alarm
installed?

I don't have Roxio or Zone Alarm. The HP burner doesn't even give me a
recording page on in the property proerty dialog box. I'll pull it out and
take it back. And try again.
