@ and " switched on Dell QuietKey keyboard
I have a Dell system that has a QuitKey keyboard. I recently install a clean
copy of XP and just noticed that the double quote and @ symbols are
switched. This machine originally had Windows ME installed. Could this be a
driver problem? Nothing else seems to be wrong.

It sounds like you have the wrong nationality set for your keyboard. Since
you are posting from the UK, I assume you want a British keyboard layout.
Go into Regional Settings, etc. and make sure your keyboard is set to your
country and not to the US.

I have checked and the regional settings are for the UK. I have found
several other special characters that seem to be swapped. DO you think that
it is likely that the keyvoard itself is faulty and producing incorrect scan
codes?

That's always a possibility and is easy to determine. Simply attach a
different keyboard. If you have a PS/2 keyboard (round connector) make sure
you shut the computer down first.
