Re: multimedia audio controller deleted!!!
We would love to send you a link.......if we knew the manufacturer of the
laptop.
So look down and see the name...turn the unit over and see the model
number...I cant quite reach that far.
Now that you have the name and model number go to the manufacturers website
and search for the Audio drivers...download and install them.

I would advice you to *keep* searching for that CD. By the
rate you're going one doesn't need a crystal-ball to foresee
that you'll have install the whole OS sooner or later.

As to links sent to your *private* e-mail, such a request
will be denied, especially since you don't provide any Make
Model or other information, free hint: if in the future
you'll need again some help, learn to *INCLUDE* these type
of information. But when you reached this level of expertise
you will also be able to look up the website of the
manufacturer of the Lap-top and find the drivers there...

Looks like an SIS chipset, could be an SIS963.

0x414c4770 = "ALC203", which is a RealTek 2 channel AC'97 chip
http://www.cs.fsu.edu/~baker/devices...7/ac97_codec.c
http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/p...nn=4&ProdID=54

ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/noteboo...iver/index.txt
"audio.zip : Realtek AC97 Audio Driver 5.10.00.5790"
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/noteboo...iver/audio.zip

To verify whether the driver is a match, I'd look in the WDM folder
after unzipping the audio.zip file. For a driver to install, the
enumeration of the hardware has to match a line in one of the INF
files. Using a utility like Everest, it might be possible to get
an enumeration for the AC'97, before trying to use the driver.

Everest (last free version)

Best guess,
