Hard Drive
I just installed a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 100GB hard drive, IDE, into
my 1.7 GB Intel computer,(XP Home w/ SP2) as a secondary drive. It only
shows up as a 30 GB drive. Md# ST3100011A?
It is not new by the way!
What am I missing here??

First check the bios to see if it's recognized properly.
(The OS can see the drive regardless of the bios call, but check there
anyway)

If that's ok...go into disk management...
chances are the person who had it before you partitioned it wrong.

If you see a 30 gig drive with approx 60 gigs of free space
you can delete the 30 gig portion
then recreate one large partition

Glad you got it sorted out...
the previous owner was probably unaware that the whole drive was not being
used<G>
