Recovery help
I am trying to do a full recovery on my pc. I run Windows Xp. It loads to the
full recovery and then before it gets to the menu(for full destruction) it
comes up with a blue screen that says can't load file \system
root\system32\config\security
because its corrupt , absent, or not writable. Windows starts up fine and
goes to desktop fine it just won't allow me to run recovery. I looked in
system folders and that file is there so I don't know how to fix it so I can
do a full recovery . I tried going in to system volume to do the registry
thing says access denied, went and unhide system folders still says access
denied. I have inserted disc to do recovery also it doesn't work that way
either just skips and goes to my desktop.any help would be appreciated. thank
you

Hi Did you tried the info here:
Help to recover a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q307545
Registry troubleshooting steps for advanced users
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=822705

Try to copy it from this Directory to the %system32%
c:\windows\repair\

Or try to copy it from another computer having the same Operating system
like your and copy it to where it should be:
C:\Windows\System32\
HTH.
