Problems opening minimized apps on taskbar
I've been having problems recently with trying to open minimized
applications/files on the toolbar. Normally when I click on the
file/application to open it back up, it opens a window on top of any other
open windows and is the active window.

Now when I click on something on the taskbar, the rectangle button just
blinks. If I click on it several times, it will finally open. While it is
the front-most window, it is not active. At other times, I have to minimize
other windows to get to the one I am trying to open. It's like the window
doesn't open on top of the other windows.

Any idea what could be causing this? And even better, any idea how to stop
it? Thanks. I'm using XP Professional 2002.

Re: Problems opening minimized apps on taskbar
You could uninstall the update that causes that, but I don't know which one
it is in XP. You can't do much else but wait till MS issues a better update.
If it's any consolation, Vista users have the same bug.

Re: Problems opening minimized apps on taskbar
Bless you a million times over. I went into Add or Remove Programs in the
Control Panel and looked at what updates I installed recently. I was able to
find the offending update, which happened to be one that was irrelevant to me
anyway. Once I uninstalled it and rebooted, my problem was gone. Thank you
very much.
