So downloading from Micrsoft's site to get Remote Desktop did not help?
Did you try the download?

SP-3 is not released. You chose to install betaware so you chose to be
affected by its problems. Do not test betaware on critical or
production systems. Test betaware on a test platform.
What happens when you use a non-beta platform, like Windows XP SP-2, to
use Remote Desktop to manage your servers? Will the older non-beta
version from Microsoft's download site overwrite (install over) the beta
version that you now have?
Use a non-beta, non-test platform for critial or production platforms.
Is there something critical to your workload that absolutely demands
that you use the betaware? If so, perhaps the release interval for the
betaware has expired and now you have to install the next "release
candidate".

The application did not crash. It said that it would not perform
anymore.
