List of files
Does anyone know where I can get a list of files and their sizes on
Windows XP Home installation disk? Also SP1 which was included on
system disk?

Re: List of files
Do you have a disc to make your own list, I'm guessing you don't, hence
the querry.

You could look for a torrent that includes a listing of contents.

Change your spelling, too. Disk (k) is to Hard Disk or Floppy Disk;
Disc (c) is to Compact Disc or DVD Disc. That will help your search.

I have the OEM disk that came with my computer, but I think some files
might be missing or corrupted. Or some files might be present that I
don't want. Every time I reformat my drive, the OS disk installs a
network. I don't want a network. To make it worse, I don't seem to
have any control over this network. I can't get rid of it. I've tried
burning a disk without the network files present, but it won't install.

Re: List of files
To verify the contents of your CD Disc downoad a trial of IsoBuster and
let it scan the CD.

To customize an installation CD you'll like nLite, it's probably the
easiest to use:
http://www.nliteos.com/guide/

1. nLite allows you to customize your installation of Windows XP,
Windows 2000, or Windows 2003. You can integrate service packs and
hotfixes from Microsoft directly into your windows distribution files
without having to re-download and install them every time you need to
re-install windows.

2. There is also the option to remove unwanted components from within
windows. Many applications are automatically included every time windows
is installed. Not every person needs or even wants all of these
applications which Microsoft considers to be necessary. By removing
these unwanted components you can free up space within your setup and
ultimately save space on your hard drive after installation.

3. nLite also provides a way to customize your installation by allowing
numerous tweaks to the way windows looks and operates after it has been
installed. You can even bypass Microsoft's bulky unattended setup
instructions and do it the easy way. The nLite way!

4. The descriptions and pictures in this guide are in reference to
version 1.0 RC5.
