Lite-on MoserBaer DVD writer not recognised during BIOS check butaccessible after loading OS
Hi,

This is a peculiar puzzle for me. My system (AMD Athlon 3600+....etc)
doesn't recognise the DVD (writer) drive during boot check. Therefore
I am not able to boot from CD/DVD. However, the drive works absolutely
fine after the OS (WinXP) is loaded.

Also, if I go into BIOS setup (pressing F2) and manually search (more
than once) for the drives it displays "MOSERBAER..." (therefore
recognises the drive). After saving the BIOS set-up and rebooting the
system again fails to recongnise the drive.

I tried changing jumper settings (all possible I believe) and
connecting the DVD drive only etc. with no result.

Ultimately, I want to be able to boot from DVD drive. Please help!

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Replace some hardware.
Try a different drive, try a different cable, etc.
