IE 7 Update issue

I am going to try posting this here. I had it on another group and was
advised it belonged elsewhere.
Yest. I had a problem w/the auto updates from MS. I use IE to access aol. I
can get to the msg.bds. ok.
But when I try to get to the email I get linked to something called AOL>
MyMobile (or some nonsense like that).
I was fine before the updates. So I tried to roll back to before the
updates. I got some kind of failure msg. It said something had to be set in
drive D.
I didn't understand that since on this pc (HP D4999t) D is the factory
recovery partition. So for now I installed the
AOL s/w. I feel it is not really needed. Anyone have any ideas? Running
Vista Bus. w/IE 7.
