Administrators account in Safe Mode
Hi,

My Administrators Account no longer shows up in the Login screen when in
Safe Mode. Any idea how to get this back?

Re: Administrators account in Safe Mode
At the Welcome screen, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice, and type in
"Administrator"

You probably have a bad entry in the registry for that.

This setting will show it on the normal boot welcome screen
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserLis t]
"Administrator"=dword:00000001

Hello,

A couple of things:

When logging into Safe Mode, at the Welcome screen, if you hit Ctrl-
Alt-Del twice you should get the "Classic" style login screen. If you
then type in Administrator and enter a password (if you have one, if
not leave it blank), do you get into Safe Mode with the Administrator
account?

If you log in in Normal Mode, go to Start => Run and type in:
control userpasswords2
Is Administrator listed in 'Users for this computer'?

It's always possible the Administrator account is corrupted.

I believe the fix to force the addition of the Administrator account
with the Registry hack, also forces the Administrator account to be
listed when you log in in Normal Mode. I'm not sure this is what you
would want.
