Windows Media Player

I have two machines-- a desktop and a laptop, both running Win XP pro
and both running Win media Player ver 11, both on a router with ADSL
connection to the internet.
If I rip my CD's on the Desktop it shows all the CD information.
If I rip the same CD on my laptop it labels everything as "unknown" and
if I right click on the ripped disk and select"find album info" I get
the message--"You must be connected to the internet to update the info"
The Laptop is online but was bringing up a dialup screen for connection
to the internet.
I have since deleted the dialup connection on the laptop.
I have also checked the two machine's settings both in Control Panel and
in Win media Player but find nothing different .
