Access Violation Error Message

I get the following message when I try to open a downloaded game:
access violation at 0x016134da (tried to read from 0x0000000a, program
terminates)

Does anyone know what this means and how I can correct the error?

What game? Uninstall and reinstall the game.

It has happened with a couple of Big Fish Games. Uninstall/reinstall did not
help - I still get the error message.

I don't know whether or not this makes a difference, but I'm a MacBook,
using windows XP through bootcamp.
