Windows Installer 3.1
I run windows xp sp2 home edition and I am having trouble with windows
installer 3.1v2 i also downloaded the patch. But when I try to installer
actual windows msi files i keep getting and error that this is not a valid
windows 32 program and it won't install it just opens notepad. I even went
into folder options and changed the msi to open with windows installer. The
last file I tried to download was right from microsoft Don't no what else to
do. I tried a solution on microsoft's website that said
open run type msiexec /unreg theen open run again and type msiexec
/regserver mow I get a message that it is scheduled for deletion how do I
fix that now. I am going to uninstall windows installer 3.1v2 and reinstall
it after I finish this message
hopefully that will fix the scheduled for deletion problem but I still need
help opening valid windows msi packages

Thank you

Robin

Re: Windows Installer 3.1
I tried all the solutions on both websites and still have the same problem
with msi files not opening with windows installer 3.1v2 plus the updated
patch which I downloaded. Don't know what else to do have spent 5 hours
trying to ressolve this problem. Cannot understaand why a windows installer
will not open a windows msi package stating that this is not a valid w32
program?
