desktop problem
I have done something silly, and cant get out of it, and wonder if someone

I think I have what you want.
Try Start, Control, Panel, Display, Settings, Appearance. Al six items
should be checked except Use large icons (unless you prefer them). Items
1 and 2 have scroll options and I have Fade Effect for Item 1 and
Standard for Item 2.

Effects tab "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"

Tried both suggestions offered, still got the blue box under the words of
each desktop icon. I can change the colour of the box, but still cant get
rid of it.
Any other suggestions welcome please
