Runtime error in Windows explorer
I have a large file in Explorer which I can't open without getting a Runtime
error message, which says that he application has requested the Runtime to
terminate it in an unusual way. Pls contact application support team for more
information.
How can I fix this?

Pat

Please post a copy of the Error Report as it appears in Event Viewer.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

What is the file extension of the file you are trying to open? How large
is the file?

Hope this helps.

Re: Runtime error in Windows explorer
Thanks Gerry, i have pasted the event viewer messahe below. The files are all
jpeg photos in a folder which is now 1.5GB. I open the folder, the thumbnails
display and then the error message appears. The latest one was "Runtime
Error,
Program C:\windows\explorer.exe, abnormal program termination".
I immediately went to event viewer and the following was in there:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Winlogon
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1002
Date: 4/28/2008
Time: 1:01:28 PM
User: N/A
Computer: PATDESK
Description:
The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.
