USB Ports
I installed a USB card into my computer and I have gone to the device
manager and they are all working correctly but when I plug my camera -
or card reader into it - the "ding" happens (like when you install new
hardware) but the USB picture used to show up in my taskbar (next to
my clock) and if I right clicked my computer whatever I had plugged
into it would show up. Now nothing shows up so I can't get the
pictures of my phone memory card or my camera. Does anyone know what
I can do to get this picture back in my task bar and get "my computer"
to recognize what is plugged in?

Thank you so much for ANY help you can give me.

Kris

Re: USB Ports
Try first removing or disconnecting all your USB devices. Then
rt click MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>USB
Controllers.
rt click each one and select Uninstall. Then restart and let WinXP
reinstall them.
Finally retry your camera and card reader.

Did you install the software for your camera?

Alternaltely, right-click on My Computer and choose Manage. Open Storage /
Disk Management, and with the camera or card reader (with a card inserted)
attached, make sure it appears and that there is a drive letter assigned.
If not, right-click on it and assign an unused drive letter.

Please tell us which USB picture? Do you mean the 'Safely Remove
Hardware" icon? Any other icons will / may require additional
"enhanced" drivers developed and provided by your camera's
manufacturer.
