NT 4.0 program on XP
My son's school gave him voice recognition software today to help him do
his school work faster. Unfortunately, it says it is for Windows 95 and
Windows NT 4.0. We have Windows XP. The school told my son to have
his dad decide if we could use the software. I had previously told the
school that I'm a software developer and could certainly set up a PC
program. So, before I open the shrink wrap, is it likely this program
will work on XP, or should I tell the school that we need a more recent
version? The company that makes it is still in business and has a more
recent version. Thanks.

Call the company that makes the software and see what they say about the
version given to you and its ability to run on Windows XP - even with
Compatability Mode...

I'm just curious - doesn't most of the stuff for NT 4.0 work on XP (if
anyone happens to know)?

Yes, most older apps do work with XP
(I've gotten Win3x and Win95 apps working with no problem)
However...you never will know for sure until you try!
