External Hard Dr stopped working
I purchased a 500GB hard drive for backup. It worked fine for the first 3
times. I believe I made some kind of setting change that prevents it from
reading my records and writing them to the drive. Tech line was no help,
reloaded software and finally the unit was replaced as defective. The new
unit works the same, appears to read my records, shows blank bllue screen
while reading, selects the right categories of records and comes up with "0"
records ready to be written. The drive shows up under My Computer as G:
drive, has 466GB Capacity and 466 Free space available. Any ideas?

Re: External Hard Dr stopped working
My approach would be to disconnect the HD, delete the backup driver then
reinstall the backup program.
Do not connect the HD till told to do so.

RE: External Hard Dr stopped working
Found the problem. Under advanced file options the Backup file drive (G) had
somehow been checked to be the source of the backup data instead of the
normal (C) drive.

RE: External Hard Dr stopped working
Problem solved. Under Advanced File Options, both the (C) and (G) drives
were checked as being the source of the data.
