time and date settings

when i turn on computer time and date are wrong. i can reset it but when
computer is turned off and then back on latter time and date are wrong
again.i would like to know how to fix this so it will stay working all the
time.

When is the last time your replaced the battery on your PC's motherboard?
And if you have not changed the battery, how old is your PC?

You CMOS battery is dead.
If you have a desktop computer, that battery will be on the main system printed wiring board
(motherboard).
It would look like a typical watch battery, about the size of a nickel. (most likely a #2032
series).
you can buy these at any store that has a good battery selection.
It will pop out of its holder and you just pop a new one in.

If you have a laptop computer, you are going to have to get a detailed manual on the computer to
find it and it most likely will have to be purchased a well stocked computer store. I would
recommend you have a tech replace it. It will not be easy to replace.

If your computer loses time when it is powered off, almost certainly
the problem is that the battery on your motherboard needs replacing.
This is an inexpensive (under $5 US) item that is around the size and
shape of a US quarter. It's easy to replace.

There's more involved than the date and time here, so it's important
that you replace the battery promptly.
