Failed Security Updates
I have just completed a clean install of Windows XP Pro (with SP2
slipstreamed )
After installing SP3 and rebooting I checked for High Security updates and
selected all except IE7
I now have two updates downloaded but failing to install
They are security updates for NET framework SP1 and security update for NET
Framework 2.0
The KB numbers end in 365 and 366

How can I get these to install or remove them so that I am not prompted that
they are available for installation when I shut down

Regards & TIA

Re: Failed Security Updates
Go to the Control Panel and uninstall .Net Framework 1, then:
Download and install "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1"
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Next use the Windows Update site to download and install any security update
for Net 1 only
If that work the repeat the steps for Net 2 below

Go to the Control Panel and uninstall .Net Framework 2
Download and install the file named NetFx20SP1_x86.exe (23.6MB)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Next use the Windows Update site to download and install any security update
for Net 2

Re: Failed Security Updates - Sorted
For those that may experience the same problem ....

I uninstalled SP3
Uninstalled all .NET framework modules (including updates)
Re-installed them and all the updates one by one
Then installed SP3 and all appears to be well

Regards
