Hi all
I have just reloaded an OEM windows xp with sp2 and i'm now getting pink
transparancey on the icon shadows and some pictures online look like "white

I'm really confused, I have replaced the monitor, cable and graphics cards

The reinstall may not have given you a full set of good system files. I
would try a run of: 'SFC /SCANNOW'

Control Panel, System, see "Tasks" pane, Advanced, Performance area,
Settings button Visual Effects tab, put a check in "Use drop shadows for
icon labels on the Desktop" If it's there already, uncheck, restart, and
check, apply to toggle the setting in the registry.
