I have a Gateway with AMD 64 pasted all over the front panel. I
recently installed a remote mouse. I think it asked about either 64 or
32 bit. I chose 64 and it did not work. I went back and chose 32 and
it worked. Also try a right click on a open space on the desk top, and
hit the tap for SETTINGS. On mine the color setting has either 16 or
32 bit. Mine is set on 32, which is the max.
Also I goggled Windows xp 64 bit. You can up grade to a 64 bit
version, but in order to have it work your processor has to be 64
bits.
Check out System via the Control Panel. Mine says the processor is a
AMD Althon 64. I conclude from all this that my XP is 32 bit, but I
may be able to upgrade to 64. I will go back and read the stuff linked
to the Goggle search.
So on yours I would bet it is 32 bit, unless it has been up graded.
Like I said, the only place on my system where bits are mentioned is
in the color settings for my nVIDIA Gforce card. So why not just try
it an see what works?
Not really a definitive answer, but hope it helps.
