Task manager, display CPU percent bar in system tray
When i used to launch the task manager, it displayed a small icon in the
system tray, a single bar that showed you CPU percentage (so you didn't
have to have the task manager window open to see CPU percentage). This has
disappeared. Just stopped appearing now, when i launch task manager. Have
no idea why (I don't mess with any options, ever!). Task manager help was
not helpful (surprise?). I cna't find any view option that would seem to
control it.

Can somebody tell me what i have to do to get that display back in the
system tray?

Thanks,
tom

Your OS is Windows XP what?
What service pack level?

So you press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up the task manager and inside task
manager you can select the "Performance" tab and see the CPU/PF
usage/history - but at the same time the icon *does not* appear in the lower
right (usually) part of the taskbar - near the clock? (Green box, hover
over it and it gives you the CPU percentage.)

Is it 'hidden'?

Re: Task manager, display CPU percent bar in system tray
I am on Win XP.

Yes, what you say below is correct. If i display the task manager, i can
see the 'Performance' tab, but at the same time, the icon does not appear in
the system tray at the lower right. If i press the arrow to reveal the
hidden icons, it is not there, either. It is gone. It was always previously
there until a few weeks ago; so it appears to be a 'mysterious
disappearance'.

Does nybodyknow how i can bring it back - the little icon that shows CPU
usage in the system tray?

Thank you.
Tom

Process Explorer does that; did you have that program replace Task
Manager? If so, re-run PE and make it the default.
