The next time you reboot, don't cancel CHKDSK. Odds are, if you let it
finish, it won't keep trying to run.
If it does still try to run, back up all of your critical data
immediately. Then download the pertinent diagnostic tool from the hard
drive manufacturer's web site, and test your hard drive. Be prepared to
replace it.
