Screen to dark, can barley see

I turned my laptop on and the screen is dim need help adjusting it. the
brightness buttons did not help.

Sounds like the back-lighting is gone out. If it is not a bad connection (not easy to check) you
most likely need a new display screen. Sorry, but either case is skilled technician's job and it
will be $$$.
