keyboard freaking out
all of a sudden, when I'm typing, if I type an apostrophe, the cursor takes
me back to the beginning of the line. also, if I hit ctrl/shift, i get a
pop-up that asks me if i want to log off or switch user. and, if I use the
right arrow, it inserts an apostrophe and moves the cursor to the line
above. the delete button inserts slashes. other things are also happening
with that part of the keyboard (the arrows part and insert/home, etc)
this just started happening all of a sudden; I haven't done anything to the
computer at all. i did reboot but that didn't help. do you think it's the
keyboard or my system? any help would be appreciated. this is driving me
nuts. thanks

I love questions like this - because the question holds the methods for
testing and discovering the answer.

Try another keyboard. If it does the same thing - it's not the keyboard.
(Yes - you can do this even on a laptop - as most laptops have USB ports
where you could plug in a USB keyboard.)
