Windows XP startup and shut down screen appearance
I downloaded and installed steady state. I did not like it and uninstalled
it but now I have a logon screen (for admin) come on that I have to click and
the shutdown screen has a dropdown box for the selected action instead of the
buttons as before. Can somebody tell me how to get it back to the standard
screen for startup and shut down? Thanks

Re: Windows XP startup and shut down screen appearance
It's called the "Welcome" screen, and the User Accounts app in Control Panel
has a checkbox for using that. As Admin, make that setting, apply and test.
If that fails, as admin, go to start, run, and type:
control userpasswords2
The will be a checkbox to UNcheck for "Require users to press
Ctrl-Alt-Delete" on one of the tabs
