flight sim crashes

Hi,
Anyone know the answer to this,afte opening the sim(2004) the PC just
crashes,no error message just a brrrrrrrrring sound, if that makes
sense,antyway I have to reset the pc to get it to close,I read about someone
else with this prob.. and I do have the disc to start the sim! could it be
updates or something.
