Invisible file name ~ need help deleting
I have a folder on my desktop that has a file inside it that is blank.
(i.e. there are no characters to represent the file name.) I am trying
to delete it but I get a "Cannot read file: Cannot read from source
file or disk". So...I used my handy-dandy command prompt. I cd'd into
the folder and then "dir /x" to see what the file name was in SFN. I
then used "ren 0200~1 thisfile" to no avail. I keep getting the error
in the command prompt that the file is being used by another
process...so I tried a malware removal tool that is supposed to unlock a
file from it corresponding processes...no go. Any other ideas? The
folder looks ugly on my desktop and I would like it removed....

Many people report success using this:

DelinvFile - Delete Invalid Files and Folders
http://www.purgeie.com/delinv/index.htm

Re: Invisible file name ~ need help deleting
Thanks! It worked Great! And sorry for the multiple posts...this was
the first time I have ever used a thing like this and I kept getting
errors about not being able to save or post or something. But anyways,
this worked no problem! Thanks!
