RE: DVD's/CD's spin even when not in use
Like hard drives,they spin continuously.A cd or dvd player with a disk
installed
by default must spin all the time as to the OS/user will have access to the
files.
If it stopped,most users would complain about the continuos start up time,&
not having the files ready when needed.Remove disk solves it
