compaq presario m2000

yes i have compaq presario m2000..... runing windows xp home .when i start
the laptop it ask for password i put it and then i see it saying shutting
down !! but then it dont shut down it ask for password again so i do it ,
then it says shutin down but it dont , it just ask for password so again i do
it ..... can some1 help me out , and yes warrent exspire

say mark i ( can ) get in the safe mode but when i but password it blinks and
then ask again for password so i put it again and still ask for password i
even try puttin the word administrator and still do the same thing any other
hints ? thanks for help
