McAfee update
Hello All!

I recently tried to download and install a paid McAfee upgrade for the
coming 12 months. I had a lot of trouble and wasted an hour or two's
time. I have written to McAfee but have not received any reply so I
thought I would post my email here for those who may be interested.

The essential point is that the download window reappears even after
success and COVERS the install window.

I appreciate the assistance of Abihalash Nelson in the referenced
service request (168062762) which successfully reinstalled my new
version of McAfee Security Center (which I will refer to as McAfee).
However, after finishing and being able to think about my problem in
initially installing the update, I have come to the conclusion that you
need to examine your installation procedure.

I think I downloaded your update more than once and this was the source
of the problem. Why did I do this? The reason is now apparent after
studying the log transcript of the session with Abihalash. The download
window reappears even after a successful download and COVERS the
installation window. In the guided installation with Abihalash, I was
able to ask about the download window and his instruction to close it
revealed the installation window.

Might I also say that removal of McAfee with the Windows system did not
work and your own removal program, as instructed by the tech in my first
service request (168045493), produced many incomprehensible messages and
hangups making it impossible to be sure that the program had completed
successfully. While I was trying to sort this out, the connection with
the tech under request 168045493 was terminated. After a reboot, it was
apparent that McAfee had actually been removed, to my surprise!

Re: McAfee update
i don't know james, it
seems to me that both
mcafee and norton are
more trouble than they
are worth for the average
home computer.
