Virtual Memory Low
Good Afternoon,

My computer keeps giving me a pop up that says Virtual memory low.
What is Virtual memory and how do I fix this problem?

I just switched from Norton Antivirus to AVG.
AVG takes less memory to run, so why would it be coming up with this now?

The message means that the size of the pagefile is too small. The pagefile
allows each process on the machine to pretend that it has access to 4 GB.
The explanation of how this works is more than a little long for posts in
this newsgroup.

What you should do is set the size of the pagefile to "system managed". You
can find out how to do this be searching Help & Support.

And, no merely changing applications does not necessarily result is a
smaller pagefile.
