were are the vista news groups?

I'm looking in news.microsoft.com but there are no vista groups in
there. where are they?

which server? I've tried msnew.microsoft.com and news.microsoft.com. A
vista search comes up blank for both.

Try using as the server name, "msnews.microsoft.com"

The Vista groups have names starting with "microsoft.public.windows.vista"

For example,
"microsoft.public.windows.vista.general" and
"microsoft.public.windows.vista.installation_setup " and
"microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail"

You may need to refresh the list of newsgroups available in Thunderbird. Click
on Microsoft News in the Folders pane. In the right hand pane, click on "Manage
Newsgroup Subscriptions". In the Subscribe dialog, hit the Refresh button. Once
the list of newsgroups has been updates, see if entering Vista in the "Show
items that contain" box yields any results.

It's msnews, not msnew. That typo would cause the problem.

The correct server name is msnews.microsoft.com. There are many Vista
newsgroups there.
