Laptop won't boot up

My daughter's Advent 7088 took a routine Windows XP upgrade a few days
ago and since then won't start up.

We get the option to start in safe mode or to go back to last good
configuration but that makes no difference.

It then proceeds to the Norton Go Back progress bar and we've tried
with that to "go back" but to no avail.

It then goes to XP progress bar for a few seconds and then just hangs.

Any suggestions?

Re: Laptop won't boot up
WinXp Update, not upgrade
Since its an Advent it will likely have a recovery cd only

Re: Laptop won't boot up

For some reason I accepted the option to de-install Norton Go Back and
was then able to reboot successfully. I've now reinstalled Go Back and
all is still ok.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Re: Laptop won't boot up
As you`ve reinstalled GoBack , it might hang again . If you need it
for system restore , try using ERUNT system instead .
