Automatic logon
I can't remember (and can't find the information in the online Help) how
to log myself in automatically (i.e. without having to enter my
password) when the PC starts up.

I know how to do it in Windows 2000, but the relevant tick box doesn't
seem to be available in XP.

Re: Automatic logon
userpasswords2 has been deprecated in one of the updates, so that link is
not applicable. I suggest trying the registry entry that worked in Win 2K.
(I have not tried this lately)

Re: Automatic logon
And if users are averse to making registy changes manually they can try
Sysinternals' Autologon:

Thanks for the further info, but userpasswords2 worked on the brand new
(custom-built) PC I picked up earlier this week.

Does this suggest that it isn't fully up to date?

I'm not afraid of the registry, but thanks anyway for the Autologon link :-)

Re: Automatic logon
I was guessing that an update did the deprecation, perhaps my system needs
repair. I don't know. Others here might chime in with their experience, to
determine that.
