Outlook Express
I can send and receive using Hotmail.
I can receive using Outlook Express.
I cannot send using outlook express.
the error message is:
The server reported an error. Account:
'http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata', Server:
'http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata', Protocol: HTTPMail,
Server Response: 'Precondition Failed', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 1300, Error Number: 0x800CCC3C
This came up unexpectedy a couple days ago. I use Verizon's DSL.
Verizon tried to help but couldn't.
I would sure like to get back to sending with Outlook Express and would
appreciate any help that may be out there.
Thanks,

RE: Outlook Express
Close OE. Use Search to find the Hidden file named 'outbox.dbx'
Delete the file and restart OE

RE: Outlook Express
I have now cleared practically all stored deleted, sent, spam messages and
the error reads differently;
The host 'imap' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly. Account: 'imap', Server: 'imap', Protocol: POP3, Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

RE: Outlook Express
Create a new Identity in OE (File menu) and create a hotmail account to test.
If it works, Import the old messages from the other Identity. The help will
explain that.
