windows messenger automatically signing out

i had the old msn on my computer (4.7 now deleted) downloaded messenger live
and i still get cut of from my connections at least every five minutes.
signed up for a live id but i still get cut off. have tried up dating it
but it remains the same.
AM I MISSING SOME THING??????????????
