Bad display ratio with screen capture

Hello all,

I used Media Encoder 9 to record various activities while the user is
performing some activity on the computer. These screen caps pertain
to certain parts of the screen, sometimes they are a vertical rectangle,
sometimes they are a horizontal one.

When I play these using WMP they look ok, but when I import them
into MM2 and generate the output file (WMV format) the images get
streched horizontally and vertically which makes the captured video
look bad.

Can anyone orient me as to how to resolve this? I am looking for
info now, but have not located anything so far.

Thanks!
Saga

Re: Bad display ratio with screen capture
You need to capture your screen in a 4.3 size ratio for std settings in MM,
as MM makes a video in either 640x480 for wmv or dv.avi is in 720x576 (PAL)
or 720x480 (NTSC) or use a custom profile to make a video come out the size
you want.

Re: Bad display ratio with screen capture
Thanks for the reply. I will look into it.

I recaptured some of the screen using an approximately 4:3 size ratio and
the result is much better.
