codec problem
im using a version of hypercam to create video files(WMP files)
they play fine on windows media player but when i try to import them to
moviemaker 6.0 , an error pops up and says i dont have the codec installed i
need. when i try to add "already imported" clips to my video they play fine
but when i shorten the clips, it still seems to work but when i play any
clips already imported or try to add another one to the timeline, it's just a
solid black clip...

has anyone had this problem or can help me?

Thanks

Re: codec problem
wmp is not a file type, can you check what the file is, possibly wmv?

Re: codec problem
to both of you.........

There are over 800 avi file types, which one are you using?

dv.avi is the only one that works properly, ones like mpeg, divx, xvid etc
don't, these need converting to wmv.
