After SP2, still have MM 2.0
I have windows xp sp 2 with all latest updates, but my Movie Maker is version
2.0.3312.0. I did a search for moviemk.exe which i believe is 2.1, but it is
not on my hard drive.

I think this happened because I did not realize 2.1 was already on my
computer, and download 2.0, so maybe it overwrote 2.1? not sure...

So, how do I get MM 2.1? Can I download it seperately? If not, should I
download SP2 and reinstall it again to get mm 2.1 (sounds risky and a lot of
work).

Please advise.

Bob

The following article may be useful:

What can I do if I upgrade to Windows
XP SP2 and Windows Movie Maker 2.1
is not installed successfully?

And you can download SP2 from the
following site if you would like to reinstall it.

Download Windows XP SP2
http://tinyurl.com/6ubys

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.

It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.

And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.

Re: After SP2, still have MM 2.0
I have the same problem as Mr. Bob Day. My Movie Maker went bye-bye, see-ya;
after installing Windows XP SP2. I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition
2005 which is a fancy way of saying Windows XP Pro with XP Plus installed. I
tried to follow the first link you gave, but I could not connect to the site.
> http://tinyurl.com/65pfo (It is probably just stupid IE 7 or dumb Norton

IE Security not allowing me to connect). The second link worked for me.
Please let me/us know if there is an update or another way to access >
http://tinyurl.com/65pfo. I want to try that first before I attempt to
re-install SP2. Because if I have to go that far, I may as well re-install XP
from scratch.

Thank you for your time and efforts.

Go to...Start / Run...type..."moviemk.exe"...
press...Enter. If Movie Maker is installed
it should launch.
