publishing dvr-ms movies

I am using Vista Ultimate 32bit edition and while I can import and edit my
Media Center recorded content into Movie Maker, I can't publish the finished
piece. I get as far as being able to give the movie a title and then the
screen which tells me the estimated time when the message "Windows Movie
Maker has stopped responding" then "Movie Maker is restarting".

Movie Maker itself doesn't hang or lock up entirely, but will not publish my
edited dvr-ms files. Is there anything that can be done to remedy this
issue??

First and check that you have installed your SP1. I had the same problem and
need to install Windows movie maker 2.6 version. But once that I reinstall my
computer, also installed the SP1. I tried to do my first movie and was
totally successful. But not all is sweet, the movies that I did are in DVD+R
(Sony) but I can't finish any movie with DVD double layer... Try that and I
hope it will works.
