downloading mini dv tapes
I am downloading mini dv tapes into avi format so I don't lose the quality of
the video. I am trying to take still pictures from the videos and some images
are blurry. When I play these videos, Movie Maker only shows them at 15
frames per second on the preview screen. When I look at the properties for
the files it says it is 29 frames per second. Is there any way to view the
videos at 29 frames per second?

Maybe the following info previously posted
by PapaJohn will be useful:

Movie Maker 2 shows you every-other-frame
when doing project editing. MM1 and Movie
Maker in Vista show you each frame.

It's usually not a problem when skipping over
the in-between frames, but sometimes you
notice a flickering frame in a clip that is a 'stray',
and you can't see or cut it out.

If you apply the Slow - Down - Half video effect
to a clip in the timeline, you are then seeing
each frame rather than every other one. You
can see the problem frame and split it out.
Then remove the effect from the clip to return
it to normal.

Re: downloading mini dv tapes
Also the video will be interlaced, so it will show both the odd and even
lines in a still capture. On movment this can be seen as blurring, so
hopefully your photo editor will have a de-interlace facility.
