.wmv files

When I receive files with the .wmv extension via the Internet or email, I can
not open them with a number of applications, including MS Media Player (which
is set up to be default for this extension plus others). However, if I save
the file to a folder on my PC and thenimport it to Mopvie Maker, I can play
it from there.

What must I do to be able to play these files directly on MS Media Player?

Depends what you mean by internet, if you mean from a web site, tehn if the
site is set up to allow you to watch the video then you should just left
click on it wait for WMP to open, then wait for the video to start., If it's
long or a large size or your connection is slow it may take ages to begin.
Email videos must be saved first.
