Eliminating Scenes Screen at Beginning of Movie
I have been creating some movies using a series of still
pictures....basically a slide show, but with effects, transitions, music,
etc. When the movie is published and burned to DVD there is screen at the
beginning with a 'play' button and a 'scenes' button and the background is
running through a series of slide/pictures from the show.
I want to eliminate this screen all together or at least just have a 'play'
option showing on the introductory screen without it showing several of my
slides as it goes through this scene process.
I hope someone understands or has seen what I'm trying to describe and can
help me eliminate the scenes view? This could be something added as part of
DVD maker and not Movie Maker but either way I'd appreciate some help to fix
it.
Thanks,
Brian

RE: Eliminating Scenes Screen at Beginning of Movie
In Windows DVD Maker there is an "Options..." link that gives 3 playback
setting options: (1) start w/ DVD menu, (2) play video & end w/ DVD menu, (3)
Play video in continuous loop. The link is on the first screen you encounter
- to add pictures/videos to DVD. It's in the bottom-right corner, above
Next/Cancel buttons.
If you've already passed this part and are in the menu editing area, there
should be a blue back-arrow in the top-left part of the screen. This arrow
should take you back to the Add screen, where you'll find the options link.

Re: Eliminating Scenes Screen at Beginning of Movie
Thank you for your response.
I had checked those options but they don't really do what I want.
I just want a plain opening where I can hold the start of the show until
everyone is seated, quiet, and ready to see the show ...and then press
"PLAY".
With the options available #1 shows several of my slides as it randomly
runs on ...#2 starts the video right away, when I would like to hold it
until I'm ready....and #3 also starts the show before I'm ready.
#1 would be fine if I could limit the number of scenes or not have any at
all.
Thanks again,
Anyone else got any other ideas,
Thanks,
bj

Re: Eliminating Scenes Screen at Beginning of Movie
Maybe I need to ask a different question. How does one use scenes/chapters?
Where do you select them? How do you set them up? etc.
Thanks,

Re: Eliminating Scenes Screen at Beginning of Movie
scenes/chapters are terms used when creating DVDs, not the movies that MM2.1
in XP makes. As Movie Maker doesn't make DVDs, you might be asking about
other software.

Re: Eliminating Scenes Screen at Beginning of Movie
Thank you,
So now I know my problem is with MS DVD Maker.
Is there somewhere where I can get help with MS DVD Maker?
From what I make out there....scenes are picked by that software and it
appears I may have no choice to change them or eliminate them????
Should I be looking for a different DVD burner?
Thanks again,
bj

Re: Eliminating Scenes Screen at Beginning of Movie
DVD Maker is a Vista app, not an XP one...
With DVD Maker, as with other DVD software, you get to choose the main high
level 'scenes' by giving it a pack of videos. Within each video (scene), DVD
maker provides 'chapters'.... yes, other software such as Sonic's MyDVD lets
you select the 'chapters'.
At a high easy to use level, DVD Maker is great and enough for most users.
If you want the added options to do your own 'chapter' selection, other
software is needed.
