Media MP 11
Apparently Automtic Updates installed MP11 which I didn't want. It doesn't
work. Will not play CDs other than music I have stored on my computer. Will not
burn anything, will not play any prerecorded Cd's or DVDs.
I hav etried every method I could find to rollback to MP but it will not
allow me to install MP10 because there is updated version -MP11 already on
computer.

Can anybody pprovide assistance

remove it, follow the instructions.

DON'T roll back with system restore.

If you tried to delete it by using system restored you could possibly have
buggered up something.

2 things to try :

1) re-download and re -nstall WMP11. Make sure auto-run is turned on : Right
click on My Computer > Explore > right click on your CD/DVD player >
Properties > Autorun > make your choices as per the click down menu. Did
that lot fix things ? if not :

2) the work around fix is :

a) to rip CD's use this : http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/ its free,
don't forget to download the lame encoder as well if you want to rip to
mp3's
b) to play cd's etc : http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ its free
c) to burn things : http://cdburnerxp.se/

Cheers,
Jerry

Re: Media MP 11
Thanks for the info. No checking the player for autoplay didn't help. I will
try the workarounds you suggested..
Thanks much
